Declaration of Faith

C O R E   B E L I E F S

At Azalea City, we believe God is who He says He is, and we believe the Bible to be truth. The following statements of belief are foundational to who we are as a church, and are in alignment with that of the Church of God International.

THE WORD

The Bible is God's Word. God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

THE TRINITY

One God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
1 John 5:7

THE FALL

Adam & Eve chose not to obey God, causing a sinful nature for creation. Since then, all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sin.
Romans 3:21-23

SALVATION

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior.
John 3:16

CHRISTIAN LIVING

Justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. Sanctification is subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost. We believe holiness is God's standard of living for His people.
1 Peter 2:9

BAPTISM

All who repent of their sinful nature should be baptized in water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost by immersion. Then, subsequent to a clean heart, we believe in the baptism with the Holy Ghost, in which speaking with other tongues, as the Spirit gives utterance, is the initial evidence thereof.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:38,39

RESURRECTION & ETERNAL LIFE

We believe in the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked. We believe in the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Acts 24:15
